.....Mandel BROT controls.... Load/Save buttons: The Mandelbrot set or a part of it can be drawn and saved as a bmp file. A bump file generated with this program can later be loaded and redrawn. The Mandelbrot field is a square where (x,y) = -2>x>+2 & -2>y>2 units. The selected picture is a square whose left edge, top edge and width are selectable by typing the numbers into the edit boxes or selecting these parameters with the zoom feature. In addition, four preselected areas may be chosen with mouse clicks on the button labeled full to horn, spiral or point. Clicking the Zoom button to its on position permits selecting a portion of the existing picture to be drawn. This can be done repeatedly. When the top, left and width are selected then the picture can be drawn by clicking the draw button. The stop and erase feature clearing the picture area and or drawing multiple pictures onto the same picture area. The custome, trig, linear, log button alternately selects the color pattern for the image. The Draft, rough, fine density selection select every fourth, second or all the 400x400 pixels in the image area. The exit button terminates the program gracefully. A word about the zoom feature: When the zoom button is selected ON then a square window shows in the image area. The image within the selection square is repeated in the zoom window for selection. The selection window is moved by mousing down within the window and dragging the window to a new location. The sizing is done by mousing down in the image area outside the selection window and dragging its lower and right edges to the new position, the top and left edges remainint in place. When a new picture area is selected, click the draw button to make a new image. One other point: For an image that has been loaded to be able to be zoomed into a smaller viewing area, the left, tip and width values of that image must be known. These parameters are embedded in all the images that have been created with and saved with this program. The values appear on the drawn image as a small line segment in the lower left hand portion of the image. Hardly noticable, they can be edited out easily with any number of "Paint" editors; however, further zooming of the edited image will not be possible. Happy hacking, and any criticism will be appreciated. For example, I'm sure There is a better method of zooming. My thinks to the many people of this group and Mr. Yu for RapidQ. It has given be a great deal of pleasure to participate in this project. --.-
